Leona Lewis - Echo
One begins listening to this second
album from 2006's X Factor winner Leona
Lewis hoping its title isn't prophetic.
Nobody needs an echo of Lewis's ,
saccharine debut, Spirit. Much more is
expected of this 13-track set.
Echo is undeniably a bolder affair but
again relies too much on Lewis's voice
- not as strong as fans may think.
When she reaches for the highs, Lewis
comes off as a discount Mariah Carey -
Can't Breathe is an unbearable exercise
in vocal histrionics.
