Bourdy wins after McIlroy charge 1/3
France's Gregory Bourdy held off the
challenge of Rory McIlroy to win the
Hong Kong Open by two strokes.
McIlroy, from Northern Ireland, carded
a brilliant 64 after starting the final
round five shots off the pace.
But a five at the 17th, the sole bogey
on his card, cost him dear and a 17
under par finish was not quite enough.
"I didn't look at the leaderboard until
the 18th green so I didn't know McIlroy
played well. I wanted to stay focused
on my game," said Bourdy, who shot 67.
